Hey all, this is the welcome thread! I know all members thus far, so enjoy your stay, check out some of the nuts that is up, and post some of your own. I love to talk and discuss issues relevent to all topics, but I have settled into Ufology and Abductions putting most of my other areas of interest to the side for now. I would still be totally up for some field work in any of the areas of discussion here at the board. For ideas on field work post it in the investigations area.
I have been researching paranormal things as an armchair for most of my life gobbling up whatever media available to me at the age. The older I got the better info I received. It wasn't until about 1999 - 2000 that I made up my mind to actually put some effort into actually obtaining proof to formulate my own beliefs in the matter. All books always tend to end with a question mark in most topics and that was starting to piss me off after about 10 years of reading nuts that said ultimately we don't have a clue but believe me this is how it is. f**k that.
I started taking notes and studying the ways previous researchers had gone about things. In paranormal investigations, always remember when looking for scientific data or evidence that there is a really good chance you are using a tire guage to see how much life is left in the remote control battery. That I think has been a crippler to advancement in scientific understanding and subconsequential fuel for the skeptical fire. I tend to gravitate to a more ancient understanding of science, and I like them, laugh at the little whirring gizmos and bleeping plastic squares and chip boards. They need to be told by a machine what they are interpreting! The machine in that case plays the same role as a religious fraud. If the machine is wrong you are f**ked. If the priest is wrong and you believe what he told you, well again you are f**ked. It is sad a few people in this world know how to think for themself. It is disgusting actually, but ;D
After receiving Astrology/Parapsychology credentials in 2001 I was able to get my foot in the door to converse with what we could loosely call experts. That is really how credentials help. And even then since I didn't have a PhD or anything I was still having a hard time getting anywhere. A few years back I took a UFO investigators course from Flamel, again nothing big, but better than toilet paper, gave me some decent pointers on photo analysis, which has come in handy. Since that time I have been more focused in Ufology and I have found everything connects or relates to one another. The parnormal is a science that is largely undiscovered and grossly misunderstood if not outright ignored, and the paranormal is understood when one can see the bigger picture.
My main focus in Ufology is abductions. I have had local interviews with people and kept notes, haven't done video but I will from now on. Much better for analysis. I have also assisted and helped abductees online. When I think about it there have been quite a few. I work with other people similar to me and we share our research and abduction data for verification, statistical studies and all that fun stuff.
So what about y'all?
What is your story?
